THE DRILLER'S CHOICE

Global premiere for Mincon’s 60” drill-through system

In March 2020 Mincon Group introduced it’s largest-yet DTH drill-through ring-bit casing system for geotechnical piling applications. The system was unveiled at the Conexpo-ConAGG 2020 exhibition.

The introduction of this new large-diameter system expands Mincon’s line-up of Spiral Flush geotechnical tools, which have seen pioneering uses at many large construction projects across the world. Drill-through systems are used when a casing has to be partly installed in the rock, while the pilot bit is then disconnected and used to drill through into the rock. This creates what is known as a rock socket – a more stable solution for pile in certain ground conditions.

David Delorme, Mincon Geotechnical Products Director, Americas region, said:

“Our new 60” system is the perfect showcase of Mincon’s technology and expertise. Our DT systems remain the only products that offer single-pass drilling into hard rock, even in sensitive ground conditions.”

As with all products in the Spiral Flush line-up, this 60” system has a patented face design that discharges flushed air perpendicular to the drilling direction, channeling it into the casing. This prevents compressed air being discharged into the ground – an incredibly important consideration when drilling near existing structures or complex ground conditions. Spiral Flush has proven safe in these conditions and this 60” system continues offering these benefits.
